A few snaps from the Air Show. Fantastic weather and record crowds made this a great day to be at Ellington Field. If you could not make it to COTA this was the place to be.
Highlights of the day:
* The "Tora Tora Tora" re-enactment: B-17, P-40... They even had a real Zero!
* A Vietnam battle re-enactment: APC's, Hueys, F100, A4, Sandy and the Migs!
* Numerous flyovers
* Insane aerobatics including Team Oracle
* The Blue Angels: Always a crowd favorite!
The announcers did a great job, and the pyrotechnics crews brought the fire. I was impressed with the skills of the pilots involved, and the willingness if the different organizations to put vintage planes though their paces. More later - my friend had a real camera but this should be good for now ...

I'm kicking myself. I haven't been to WoH in years, and I planned to go this weekend but work and soccer games got in the way. Weather was fooking amazing, too. Sigh. Maybe next year.

They will be back - I'm hoping the Thunderbirds make it next year. In the meantime stay tuned Hooks Airport may have a small show in the fall.

Interesting! I've never heard of Hooks Airport. They've got an interesting website, and it looks like they do a lot of military aviation there. Might be a good place to go do some spotting. Speaking of spotting, I found this on their site. There's more in the gallery .

I went and watched the Blue Angels perform. I have an awesome video of their last flyby.
